Are Ultra ATA hard disks still available?

My relative has Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop (Dell Inspiron - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) purchased some 5 or 6 years back. The hard disk has gone bad and he wants to replace it. It uses Ultra ATA hard disk. Is these hard disks still available or any other alternative. I enquired at a compuer shop. One guy said these are no longer manufactured but another guy said these are available. So, I am little bit suspicious whether they were trying to sell used hard disk.
