The BSNL Website link (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd- Latest News) says:

BSNL has decided to introduce annual payment option facility in all existing plans of Landline/WLL service by levying fixed monthly charges of 10 month as against 12 months when payment is made at a time in advance.

[*]The Annual payment facility will be applicable only for those plans which are issued by Corporate Office.
[*]The annual payment facility will be implemented as a promotional measure for a period of 90 days as festival offer from 1st December 2008.
[*]All other terms and conditions shall remain the same.
[/list]

Has anyone tried this scheme?
Does this apply to the Landline service which is tied up with Broadband plan???

You can already make annual payments for broadband. I did that in my first year of BSNL dataone (Home 500).

Read this
for combo plans.

They make a demand note and then you have to stand in line and pay the annual amount. The savings might not be that significant when you calculate the interest.
