Amazon India has no clear policy on sale of products above MRP

I do not usually check the MRP on products. The one time I did find MRP lower than what Amazon listing had charged, Amazon gave me a 50 rupee gift card to make up the difference. But not having a policy in place sounds like a bad idea as it most likely goes against local rules and regulations.
 
I am not sure if other sites will have a different response.
