by the way, which model to buy for a non-4k tv? lite or the regular edition? lite has a lot of negative reviews.
 
so what exactly is the difference? is it the older model? regular model seems to be 2021 edition.
 

Iirc the internals are same. Lite doesn't have the new remote with TV controls (via HDMI CEC). It also doesn't have Dolby Vision support iirc. For a Non 4k TV, Lite or even this one should suffice. No point in getting the 4k variant unless you have plans to upgrade the TV. But even then if you upgrade the TV, the new TV would obviously be Smart and this stick will become irrelevant.
 
freaks are not even offering the new remote on the 4k edition which remains 2018 edition. god knows when they would update this one.
 
Buying a Fire TV Stick and OTT subscriptions of your choice separately would be a more economical and better choice.
I got the 3rd Gen 2021 edition for 2099 this July.
