Allahabad HC orders UP officials, politicians to send their kids to government primary schools — timesofindia.indiatimes.com

The Allahabad high court on Tuesday took a serious note of the pathetic condition of primary schools in the state and directed the chief secretary to ensure that children/wards of government officials/servants, those serving in the local bodies, representatives of people and judiciary, etc., send their wards to these schools.

"Only then would they be serious enough to look into the requirements of these schools and ensure that they are run in good condition," the court observed.

Honesty now endangered species, corruption a routine affair: Allahabad HC

Taking serious note of rampant corruption in development authorities of Uttar Pradesh, the Allahabad High Court observed that honesty has virtually become an endangered species and there is a need to “protect” honest and impartial men of integrity.

A bench comprising justices Sudhir Agarwal and Ajit Kumar made this observation while allowing a petition filed by Narendra Kumar Tyagi of Meerut challenged allotment of a 200 sq metre plot at Defence Enclave Yojna in Kankadkheda there.

“Honesty has become a scarcity and virtually an endangered species. We need immediate steps to evolve a scheme (as is being practised in respect of rare animals) to protect honest and impartial men of integrity,” the court said.

The advocate appearing for the petitioner argued that the whole process of auction that took place on July 23, 2014 was an “eyewash”.
