jio and airtel have different vowifi symbols on samsung devices. i wonder who decides which symbol to use.

Even data symbols are different for jio and others.Jio shows LTE and others 4G.I think operators decide this.

jio uses vowifi wording. airtel has a wifi signal over phone instrument. visible in image shared above!

i am not sure if this is connected to sim slot. my jio sim is in second slot and it uses the same vowifi wording.

@Sushubh No it has nothing to do with sim slot.

Maybe it's because Jio is LTE only network. Samsung devices show 4G for networks which have 2G and 3G.

@RummaanKhan Its carrier dependent.In Foreign they even show 4G LTE together for some carriers.

Today Airtel vowifi gets activated even if phone latches to its 2G network.Earlier it used to activate only after I connect to 4G network for first time.

@Ak5877 For me it worked frm the beginning Airtel sim was on 2G mode but still got WiFi Calling.

As per my experience VoWiFi doesn't work in No service or Emergency calls only.
