Airtel network lines down in Delhi, adjoining areas

Airtel networks in Delhi seem to be down since about 6:45 p.m. today. Twitter is abuzz with customers complaining about the lack of network coverage in all parts of Delhi and its neighbouring areas.

Ravsharm from Noida says: "@airtel in Not a single airtel mobile is working in Sector 61, Noida."

Bharat k tweets from East Delhi: "#Airtel network gone in east Delhi. Customer service busy.

i was on the road with mgcarley and trust me it was painful. i lost connectivity as soon as i entered the delhi border. it worked for a while after a couple of hours. but edge was down and i think it is still down for me. pretty solid mess i would say.

Twitter / Neeti Palta: "Airtel services restored ...

if mgcarley was not carrying a vodafone connection, vedant would probably have missed the meeting. he was trying to contact me on phone/twitter. i of course was disconnected from the world. 😀

ha...we can go so backward without the network 😛

heh yeah. at home i need the broadband connection to always work. when i am out, i need the edge to work. thankfully, when i sleep, i do not give a damn for either of these two. i just hope that the server remains up and there is no porn spam on the forum 😀

Haha, thankfully I have multi level backup for making calls. Airtel, VF, Aircel, and apna MTNL 😀

i plan to start carrying my old broken tata indicom phone once again. i stopped doing that a while ago. but i guess looking at the regular problems i face with airtel connectivity in gurgaon, i would rethink that decision.

my airtel BB went off for 40 min or so late night around 2 am I think just when I was about to post something 😛 I thought forgot to pay my bill but then I realized its nt that 😛

from what i see on twitter, this is not a good time to pay airtel bills online. their systems are sort of overloaded and your payments might not process properly.

Ya, you should carry two mobiles with services from two different operators. So, even if one goes down, the other works! That's what I do! 😛

Here in Mumbai, I have seen many people carrying one GSM mobile and one CDMA mobile (Mostly Reliance, someones with Tata). Whenever they get a call on their GSM cell, they disconnect it and call them back from the CDMA phone. I have seeing this from a long time especially while commuting in train.I suppose CDMA network has a very good coverage here, have even heard many people saying this.
