Ah...Finally....But the packages dont make sense..Is there no option to get IPTV as an add on to ur already existing plan ?

i think the PR had info for brand new customers. someone has to call them up and ask for plans for us people who are already using airtel broadband. 🙂lets hope they are not facing the same issue where iptv customers cannot access broadband packages of higher speeds. i think mtnl iptv customers can only get 256kbps on their broadband connections.on call with customer support.STB for Airtel IPTV is for 2499 rupees.duh. the customer support is talking about the same 2 plans mentioned in the press release. both are with 256kbps speeds of course. waiting for any info that they might have.alright. the person i talked to has just this for me. my plan would be changed to 256kbps if i have to move to iptv. suckers.

Damn! They should have launched this 5 days back, b4 i purchased Digital TV :wall: Anyways any idea when it will be launched in Bangalore?

To those MBA guys at Airtel -- R U freaking dumb ? Whats so difficult in giving IPTV as an add on...? I thought me being with Airtel for 3 years now , they could offer some discount...but instead they want me to go for an inferior plan ?

Digital TV from Airtel

And it Costs Rs.3,999
They are charging Rs.90 for ESPN,Star Cricket and Star sports while its Rs.45 in DTH!!
And the remote looks UGLY while the interface is same as their DTH!

BTW, STB has HDMI,SPDIF,USB along with other ports!

heh. it has delhi aaj tak. that means i can take it. if they can provide it to me as an addon!

BTW, STB has HDMI,SPDIF,USB along with other ports!
Interestingly, while the diagram on this page shows HDMI, the legend that goes along with it terms it a "Reserved Interface."

Anyway, as of yet, I see no advantage over conventional TV systems (CAS, DTH). Let's see what they do with the potential of IPTV.

And if IPTV seriously means that your BB speed would be restricted to 256kbps, they can kiss my @$$. That would be a seriously stupid move, as most people who would be interested in IPTV would be tech savvy people, who are more than likely already on 512kbps.

i think users of mtnl iptv have similar restrictions on broadband speeds. this is pretty weird response from airtel.

I think, nowhere in the world, IPTV has scored over conventional TV (DTH or cable). I believe integrated solutions will not succeed in the long run; what happened to the computer-TV launched by Kalyani-sharp a few years ago?
