Hi Folks,

After several weeks of research on which DTH to go for, I have finally narrowed it down to 2 DTH Service, Airtel or Dish TV,

The reason why i did not chose Tata Sky was No Zee Sports, No Kasthuri Channel (Kannada), No Udaya News (Kannada), Zee Kannada is available only in Top up, The total monthly rental will come upto Rs 480! (310 Jumbo Pack + 45 (Lifestyle Gold Pack) + 115 (approx monthly cost for Sports Bonanza Pack) + 10 (Zee Kannada) = 480 Rs!)

On the Airtel Ultra Pack i need to pay Rs 420 monthly rental (385 + 10 (Kasthuri Channel) + 25 (Zee TV & Cinema Pack) = 420 Rs!)

On Dish TV the total charges will come upto 390 Rs which includes Tamil Telugu, UTV & Colors top up packs.

Now my only doubts which i need to clarify is as follows:

1) On a 21" CRT Color TV will there be any difference in picture/sound quality between Airtel & Dish, If so which is better?

2) The Signal Strength during heavy breeze & rains, which dish stands stronger ?

3) As i am Manager for one of MNC's in Bangalore i dont have time to go around shops looking for recharge vouchers, i need the netbanking facility to recharge the monthly DTH Service, which one is good ?

4) Between Airtel & Dish Customer Care service, which one is good!!!??? (duh!)

Please advise & comment.. awaiting your answers!

I am answering mostly on basis of what I have heard / read, and not on personal experience.1) On 21", the picture quality will be similar from all the DTHs [not sure about DD Direct Plus]. If however you are planning to go for a bigger screen - 29" and above in the near future, Airtel would be a better option.2) From folks who I know have Dish TV for almost 4 years now [in Delhi], the disturbances during rain have been minimal, and I believe technology is now mostly updated to prevent frequent disturbances during the rain.3) Both have it.4) Purely subjective. In terms of pure volume of dissatisfaction, Dish ranks higher since it has a far bigger base than Airtel. % wise, not sure.
