I haven't received any SMS from Airtel. I am on a retention plan. I guess they have not decided to hike prices on retention plans but technically they do come under DSL. Are there any guys with retention plan who have received the tarrif hike SMS?

I'm currently on a retention plan of 799.. although I haven't received a message from Airtel.. I had contacted the Airtel CC yesterday for some query about my plan and was told that my rental would be hiked to 850.. and would be receiving an sms/email shortly..

This is crazy.. on one hand Airtel is increasing their rates and on the other, MTNL is introducing some really enticing plans..

First they illegally block torrent and video sharing sites, now they arbitrarily increase the tariffs. So sad I still have to stick to these @#@# as I don't have another alternative as of now..

This is the second time they are doing this to me. I was on an old (really old) Rs 750/- 2MBPS till 10GB then 256 plan. Few months ago they increase it to 899. Now they are making it 950. this is what I get for being an airtel BB subscriber for 7-8 years.Most months I was well within the FUP, this time I am going to make them pay. Every month before billing cycle ends, I am going to let my PC endlessly download huge files and delete them. or put some torrents into lots of upload mode. Setting my calendar reminders for this.When is ACT BB coming to Koramangala? Please please.Google is giving google fiber at $70/month for 1GBPS (yes you read right) in a few months in Kansas city US, and our ISPs are moving backwards.Airtel has had its cables underground for the last 10 years in my locality, all the Capex would have paid for itself by now. They are squeezing us to make up for their africa mess. Seems that the africans aren't as gullible as us.

^Ask them to send you the details of the retention plan via email. Else, they'll only let you be on the retention plan for a month or two.

I have been on retention plan of 499 for my home connection since last over 1 year. In my case FUP is at 10 GB.

From time to time I get calls and SMS to upgrade to costlier plans but I am OK with my retention plan.

I was talking to a friend in the US yesterday. He recently bought a new connection. He pays $29 for this:



His datacap is 750GB per month.

And here we are paying a premium for 150Gb @4mbps and 256kbps post-150GB.
