Dear all,
I am using an Airtel 512 kbps connection on a Netgear 834G adsl router modem. I has worked fine for the last few months but for the past two days i keep encoutering a weird problem as follows.

When I try to open any webpage ( say Google), I get an error "Unable to display the page".

When I try to ping the same webpage ( say Google), the IP is resolved but the response is timed out.

Can anyone throw some light on this kind of problem.

Run antivirus/antispyware programs.Or Try System Restore

Login to the router(might require the router manual) and check the status page to see if it's being assigned a public ip (should look somethin like 122.***.***.***) If yes, then check if DHCP is enabled (should be in the Lan settings tab). Also make sure in Windows that the connection is configured to 'Obtain IP automatically' in the connection's tcp/ip properties. If not, and if it's displaying a PPP down error msg or somethin then ur modem config is messed up and this will require editing the WAN settings.Ofcourse the easier way would be to lodge a complaint and let Airtel send a tech support guy.
