Finally was able to get 5G in an area nearby, got about 165Mbps though, was just beneath the tower

Yes it's not all over Pune, just few places here and there.

I guess when coverage is more widespread they will announce.

Unlike Jio true feku 5G.

is it free? or consuming 4G data?

@amar I didn't really confirm but from what I read posted by others it is not free - it consumes your 4G data...

Anyone else want to comment?

It will consume your 4G data.
Hence a corrigendum from Airtel stating that if users are experiencing high data usage during 5G trials, they can disable their 5G services.

@vishalrao today I saw Airtel 5G in colleague's Moto G82 at Magarpatta after Network was set to Prefer 5G. Speeds were around 300 Mbps on Speedtest app.
While running Speedtest itself got sms that 50% data was consumed 😀
