Mobile telephony services provider Aircel on Wednesday announced the launch of a ‘Five States, One Rate’ product that offers free incoming while roaming anywhere in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
According to the new offer, outgoing local and STD (long distance) was fixed at one paisa per second. This per second offer was also new he said, pointing out that earlier, outgoing call while on roaming attracted a tariff of 80 paise a minute for local and Rs.1.15 a minute for STD. Under the new tariff plan, no rate-cutter was required and resulted in a ‘discount’ of 48 per cent.
