ADSL2+ vs. G.Dmt... Which gives better pings?

I was going through some random stuff on the web where I read that G.Dmt mode gives better pings compared to ADSL2+. The post said that ADSL2+ mode puts more strain on the copper line than G.Dmt and thus pings are unstable and higher in ADSL2+ mode.

I guess G.Dmt mode supports 8Mbps down and 1Mbps up, which is enough in my case as I'm on 4Mbps Airtel plan. So can any expert tell me if the pings and stability would improve if I switch to G.Dmt mode than ADSL2+ mode.

G.DMT for pings, you will definitely notice at least a 10MS +/- difference to your first hop. But apart from that, there wouldn't be any significant change on your pings. And yea, even a 10 MS lower, especially if you're a gamer, is a pretty good change =)
