HI All,I am airtel user. Airtel provides DHCP address, but using that ip address i can access my home desktop computer from office. Just installed webserver in my desktop pc and it is reachable to any internet connected device. My questions is ACT provides DHCP ip whichis public ip ( live, rout able ip like airtel?)In case it not live rout able dhcp ip address, how torrent clients able to open incoming ports? Can anyone existing user/ ACT person help me on this as I want to try ACT bband. Thanks

Hi GUys,Yesterday I asked same question to sales guy, but he is not sure about ip address. So I want to do experiment by ordering connection. so filled application this morning at 10:20 AM. Mr patel took application form and informed it will take max 7 days for connection. I given check for 672/- for 1 Mbps plan.SURPRISE! SURPRISE just few mins [5:40 PM exactly], ACT guy came and installed Rj-45 cable. I got confirmation call and got SMS with user name/password. with 8 hrs I got connection. NOW I AM updating this post from ACT broadband connection only. Part 2: about above question answer is :SImply suprb. They are giving live public ip address ( not static, dhcp) but I can use dynamic dns service my router so that I can connect to my desktop from anywhere in world. Here is whatismyp.com o/pYour IP Address Is: 106.51.x.xNo Proxy DetectedUp to now I am very +ve towards them. I will update this forum about my experience.

why not use a free solution like teamviewer or chrome remote desktop?

1.Team viewer : It is not allowed from my corporate network.
2.Chrome remote desktop : I never heard but looks promising. I will give a try. Thanks for the tip.

yes exact same problem. ip address registered in router is different from public ip.
