Why 3.0? It's a new tab and ICS is already out, why not use that?

firstly, it is a rumored product. secondly, specs can and would change before launch. if it is launched sometime next year, it should easily get ICS.

It's the same super-specced device we saw leak out a week ago, meaning 1920 x 1200 resolution, quad-core Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, and Ice Cream Sandwich as the shipping OS. The A700 is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2012.

The new slate will come with Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot, HDMI port, and a few of Acer's software customizations. One of them is the Acer Ring, a circular launcher menu that lets you access specific apps straight from the lock screen. I also spotted a couple of homescreen widgets, though this is still broadly Android 4.0.

Acer unveils $450 Iconia Tab A700: 1920 x 1200 display and Tegra 3 under the hood -- Engadget

Like the earlier Iconia Tab A510, this slate has an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and runs Android 4.0, but it's the first Acer tablet with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. The A700 also features Dolby Mobile 3+ technology and 5.1-channel surround sound, and there's an HDMI port for watching locally stored video on a bigger screen. The 32GB version of the Iconia Tab A700 will cost $450, and it's up for pre-sale starting today.
