Accessing Your Router From Outside

Hi, i can access my router by browsing to the ip assigned to the localhost. i can also access it by using the external ip address of the router. but what i cant do is access my router from the outside ( as in from any other system besides my own). i hv forwarded port 80. it does prompt me to enter the user name and password - but on entering the username and password - it denies me access. but with the same username and passowrd i can access it through my localhost. i hv no firewall running.

its prolly disallowing IPs other than 192.168.1.* to login to the router.
