About modem problem - bsnl broadband

My modem in c2110 (Nokia) .As it has 4 lights(LED). one four power. Second for link. Third for data. Fourth for pc/usb.The third light is always off(data one) , but in my friends modem it always glow continuously .What it the reason that in my modem it does not glow......Regards vainew

Same for me too. I am using Nokia Siemens C2110 Modem provided by BSNL. The 3rd light for Data never glows. My computer is connected to the Modem via USB port. Though this has never effected my net surfing or downloading, but this seems a bit wierd for me too. :huh:

I have a similar modem. The LED blinks for me. Must be a case of faulty LED. Must not be an issue as long as we can access the net. But it helps to identify whether BSNL line is down or not. Please talk with your local exchange.

he MIGHT BE added the username and password in the modem itself

it could be that he is connected via USB and you are connected via LAN or vice versa

I dont think a connection to the modem via USB or via LAN should make much of a difference. The Data LED is there to indicate any data transfer. Still.....Seems strange for me.
