Instead of waiting for bill to first pass in Loksabha and become legal and then challenge it in court.

Why cant they get injunction order from Supreme court before its been introduced?

Because once it become legal - private company will start using it again till the court's judgement comes, which is likely to be another 2-3 years

The fintech lobby is very strong in India. Was always going to happen. Maybe it's a good thing as there would be more scope of a larger review petition.

its all SC fault. when adhaar was passed as money bill, that itself should have counted as unconstitutional. but SC was like ooops. seems like you made a small mistake. let us keep the data we collected using hundreds of crores of tax money instead.

many lawyers already said at that time that ruling would cause problems in future.

Amendments today would also be passed through the same route.

Yep point was ... that they are clearly and knowingly violating supreme court orders.

They are clearly given instructions that if customer objects - then dont do it... else go ahead and do the illegal thing.

^ its really tiring to fight it when govt keeps on ignoring SC judgements and we have to wait 2-3 years for it to wake up by the time which most damage is already done

passed on a friday evening. day usually reserved for private bills. with few members in the house. with around 10 minutes worth of discussion.
