The DHCP settings seem off. No proper IP address for your LANIPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.43(Preferred).Login to the modem. You will have to switch DHCP 'ON'.Problem is that I do not know where it's located in the modem settings. Can you go through the modem settings & look for it?

DHCP settings are on modem side .... it shows OFF in Ipconfig because im using 192.168.1.43 as preferred ip address ....BSNL has a conventional problem, it won't pick up auto IP and auto DNS settings in PPPOE mode .... so i have to define it myself in TCP/IP4 settings of Local Area Netwrok Adaptor ....

There is a conflict. You might be taking an IP address outside the IP range set on the modem. What is the IP range of the modem? Try changing the IP adress of the LAN to 192.168.1.5 or something.

if you able to login to modem via wifi or router ,..try to change ip range of the modem to 192.168.0.2 and assign static ip other than 192.168.0.1then disable dhcp in modemif feel you have screwed up in modem, you can always have a choice of reset in modem,so no need to worry about change of ip address changeand assingn static ip address for your LAN adaptor in pc like thisIP : 192.168.0.20Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0Default Gateway : 192.168.0.2DNS : 8.8.8.8alternate DNS : 8.8.4.4there may be problem with dhcp of modem, try resinstalling your lan driveredit : oh you already reinstalled your lan driverso problem must have been due to ipconflict

@Coolbuddyin none of my friends in my city using BSNL ....and that 192.168.0.2 thing did not worked at all ....@uberjon nope modem range is 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.255I can connect to internet via same ethernet cable at my friends place ....he uses connect (HFCL) broadband ....so there is no problem at all with my LAN Card ....Today i formatted whole laptop and made a clean install of windows 7 Ultimate 'Light Edition' and installed chipset, ethernet and graphic card drivers ....it got connected for 10 minutes via LAN and suddenly my packet respetion at LAN status stopped .... now my LAN IP is being automatically set to 169.254.xxx.xxx .... any solutions ?

Try thisIP : 192.168.1.5Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1Save.Pull out the ethernet cable.Then restart.Plug in ethernet cable.

@uberjon results after opted your suggestion.... "no network access" .... "unidentified network" ....ping 192.168.1.1 destination host unreachable
