Agnivo, I just consulted Oxford Advance Learner's Dictionary and it says "defense" is US form of "Defence" in United States. Thus, both the spellings are correct and meaning the same.

One more thing, as an elder may I ask you both to stop this?

called bsnl ppl and they told me that data1 is free till 30th june no matter when u register.

As a special incentive to customers, to come forward and take up/ test the service, for both Home and Business plans, additional usage charges (Rs/MB) for the use will not be levied up to 30th June, 2005 for the customers who join the service before 31st March, 2005.
