HI all, I'm havin problem to find the comparison(functionality/benchmark) between P 4 HT - 2.8, 3.0, 3.2 & Core duo 2 - 1.6, 2.0, 2.4 processors. Can anybody compare and tell which is better as i'm very much confused. :wall: I read somewhere that Core Duo 2 1.6 GHz laggs behind P4 HT -3.0 GHz - is it true?? Can somebody post links (as i searched - couldn't find much) for their comparison. As i'm gonna buy a new desktop, it will be of great help. Thanx in advance.

dude dont go for p4 ht, go for the core 2 duos.

I have a P4 HT 3GHz - sometimes when we have a lot of guests it doubles up as a frying pan. 😉

P4 HT is based on an much older architecture. It runs hotter as well irrespective of whether its Northwood or Prescott! Core 2 Duo has TWO processor chips so you effectively get 2 processors at the cost of one! Hence its much better at handling multi-tasking...Uh.. if u dont understand anything I just said...Just go in for Core 2 Duo...

^^^egjhactly! the p4 ht is quite old and it really heats up and you can get "bheja fried"(lol i just loved that movie :rofl🙂.core 2 duo is really great in multitasking with its dual processors.i also heard there was a price cut in intel processors, so nice time to buy.🙂
