speed increase on unlimited plan from june confirmed

today i called customer care at 18004241600 the official told me that speed on unlimited plan has not been increased because then everyone will download a lot that too at rs900 but from june with launching of iptv speed will be increased on unlimited plans.the official gave me 100% surity about the speed increase from june.that is from june speed will be 2mbps on unlimited 900 and 900 plus plans and other plans will be upgraded to 8mbps

i just called up customer care too.. they said from july, aliens will do some anal probing and give them 8mbps unlimited whoever agrees to it.. the indian gov did a monumental inter-galactic deal with them 5 min back in the public toilet next to the white house..

Seems they are increasing speed for IPtv only..doesnt mean u will get that speed for downloading or unltd downloads...

do you know what 8mbps means, and do u thing that they will take such risk, and only for 500,i think you have forgotten dialup or u have not used it, the 56 k ,thing. in which speed never crossed 40k, and vsnl charged 500 per 30hrs.

sam99, I don't think u understand how these people work. How many people know how to have a good program or script to download free from 2 a.m.- 8 a.m. hardly 5% maybe. What about the other 95%. At 8 mbps in how much time will your monthly data limit cross the limit. If this happens, they will benefit like anything.

one of my friend's uncle working as a service engineer in bsnl.he said they r going to increase speed frm 256kbps to 512kbps.i asked when they go to change.he said it will be march or april.

yes bsnl will change the speed to a minimum of 512kbps soon it may be march or april and will also decrease the rate of packages according to a topic in the given forum

i am fed up of the stupid 256kbps speed for the ul plan.does anyone have any news or had talked with a senior oficer as to when they will upgrade the speed of ul plan to 512kbps?

my friend told me that if he were maran he will introduce the following plans
72kbps unlimited rs750
80kbps unlimited rs1050
128kbps unlimited rs3000
256kbps unlimited rs5000

he will cap the download speed at a maximum of 20KB/SEC and he says that he wants to make profit by making more bandwith available to leased line customers.
