So @Nishant recently mentioned this one as he has been progressively replacing all fans at his place with these units.

Ceiling fans - Save with super efficient ceiling fans - Superfan

I am considering getting one for trial before I can decide on whether to start replacing all the fans progressively as well.

Opinions?

There are four models. Need to look into difference between them. The top end model has a remote which removes the need for a regulator so that sounds cool.

Great thing is that it is also available on Flipkart and other stores these days.

Yeah I am planning to replace all the fans with this one. I am yet to receive my first unit though. Should get it in a day or two. I bought the A1 white.

What is the "technology" difference? I could not find on their website.

Also how much it costs? Cost difference?

I have bought a fan only once in my life! 😀

So I dont remember/know how much "normal" ceiling fan costs either?

normal models cost between 1200-2800 based on company and model. havells has some energy efficient models too at around same prices as this company but their consumption is around 50w compared to 75w for regular and 35w for these superfans fans. the topend superfan appears to cost Rs. 3500 on Amazon India.

so 2300Rs cost difference?

As per their own website, 1 fan saves you 400Rs per year (electric bills)

In short I dont really save any money for 6 to 7 years!

Does not make any sense to buy!!

I will make more money if I save 2300Rs and invest somewhere!!! 😀

12 hours per day?
Rs. 5 per unit?

I can easily see double savings for Gurgaon. I am only going to replace fans that are pretty much in use 24x7 in summers. Like the one above my computer.

@Nishant has ordered one. I plan to get one too. Though since it is winters, I would not be able to actually test it out. But since construction work is closing in on finishing up, we have to buy these things (locks, fans, bulbs etc. etc.) so would have to take some risks.

as i said. my usage is more than 12 hours a day. i do not think i turn off the fan for days in summers (unless of course if i am going out) and power rates are quite high here in gurgaon.
