Speed Boost In Cochin!

few days back TATA upgraded the link speed to 2080/1024. After that
when I login I get more than 100kBps speed.

I just noticed that when I am getting uncapped speed the gateway is different from normal, it will be 202.9.167.244.

So what you have to do to get this gateway is, make the modem in bridge mode and use the windows pppoe dialer. dial and disconnect until u get the above gateway.. i usually get it in the 2nd try.

NOte : this gateway has really really really bad pings. so browsing, gaming etc etc will be pathetic. the speeds vary a lot and needs to be forced actaully. try running multiple torrents or http files.. i get an avg of 100k. sometimes gets more than 150 in certain hours.

so all cochin users please try it out and post your results.

open the router config page which is by default 192.168.1.254. then go to interface setup page and change to Bridge. (see the pic)

then open network connection, press create new connection on the left then just follow the wizard and it will ask you what type of connection in a window there you have select the PPPoE one....
