I'm in a dilemma as to how much speed does Alliance actually provide for. I was looking to switch from a pathetic Tata Photon+ service to Alliance. I've shortlisted the Preferred(1mbps) and Premium(1.5mbps) packages. Taking into account that 1mbps speed actually means 100kB/s of data transfer rate in real-time, does it live up to that 100kB/s promise? Or does it range around 80-85 kB/s? Also, can someone post the upload/download rates they got from the aforementioned packages? www.speedtest.net results would be appreciated. 🙂
Just have a look at what Tata Photon gives me. :'(

You obviously don't know what you're talking about..., 1 megabits/s = 128 kilobytes/s.
I get exactly what is promised by the Alliance Broadband, I'm sure you would too.

1 byte = 8 bits, coupled with a start and stop bit for each byte, we get 1 byte = 10 bits. So that makes a 1mbps connection to be 100kB/s. Do some research before you accuse someone else of misinformation.
