Airtel Performace In Delhi -- Bad For Me...

Hi,

Since the past few days Airtel performace in Delhi it seems has been hit really hard. I am on homn 256 k plan (with double speed at nights). Downlaods from some of the servers like www.downloads.com, www.eclipse.com, www.netbeans.org and attachments from gmail.com are downloading at pathetic speeds of 8-12 kBps. Downloads from other sites like symantec.com, java.sun.com are cool with speeds of 30 kBps in day and 40 kBps in night.

Just wanted to confirm that whether any of you are also facing this problem ? I checked my Beetel 220 dx router and following is the gateway and DNS servers I am using

Default Gateway: 202.56.215.132
Primary DNS Server: 202.56.215.55
Secondary DNS Server: 202.56.215.54

CC at Airtel as usual are clueless what the problem really is ?

Please help me out...

download.com has in general always been slow for me. On eclipse and netbeans i got full 13KB/s constant(max i get) on my 128Kbit line. Though since the past few days my browsing at times seems a bit slow, the speeds are however quite normal. I do not use AirTel's DNS servers for resolving, that in anycase will not affect your download speeds in any way.

What? 202.56.215.132 is NOT a DNS server, it is the IP of a RAS. :lol: My gateway is configured as 202.56.215.135 through PPPoE.
