I heard Tarang phones can be used for internet speeds of 144kbps. I am not meaning the dial up connection (Sancharnet)

I need the clear details.

Their web is not furnished with details.

Is there anyone who uses it. Please do response.

@poppy , perhaps you are looking for this :

Unlimited internet Plan @250/p.m for it CDMA 2000IX based WLL connections .
However this plan is applicable only to the rural areas... Also it is experimental
basis for the period of one year initially...

here is the news (Oct 2006) : http://bsnl.co.in/newsdetailed.php?news_id=327

CDMA 2000 1X details are here : http://www.bsnl.co.in/newsdetailed.php?news_id=231

As I understand it :

It is not truly unlimited for just Rs. 250/- per month
It has usage charges of 0.60 Rs/min during peak hours
and 0.20 Rs/min during off peak hours .

And it is just an alternate access to Internet connection ,
as BSNL's broadband is not available at most of the rural
areas ...

What I really needed was a comparison between DataOne and Internet on CDMA WLL because I opted for the former & got the latter.

BSNL Staff is clueless about the unlimited option. My analysis says that it does not include the dial up access charges because1. It will become unaffordable for people in rural areas.2. The service is not a regular dial-up but access code based.I managed to get the cable from BSNL (and how?). The cable is in short supply and these people didn't even have the driver. So this service can be availed by some lucky people. Regarding it's speed, it better than dialup (100kbps+), more reliable & quick. Good option in wireless only if you manage to get the cable :)

Did you get any clarification on the Internet charges? (by now you must have received a few bills) Is it similar to MTNL's Garuda WLL FWP Unltd. Internet @ Rs299/- plan? (Max. Rs299/- + Taxes for unlimited internet only, call/sms charges extra)I frequently require internet access in a rural area with no broadband and I wouldnt mind going for it if it really works at 100kbps and unlimited internet.
