Fivenet and TP-Link TD-W8968 woes

So a friend wanted me to recommend a router which supports both ADSL and LAN based internet connections. I suggested him the usual TD-W8968 which has both these options. He's now facing problem configuring the same with Fivenet. Even the Fivenet guy tried a lot, but was unsuccessful. The problem is that WAN (PPPoE according to him) never connects. He has even got the Mac cleared from their end, but no luck. What could be the problem? Anyone here using TD-W8968 with Fivenet?

Just an update to this. The idiots at Fivenet hadn't released mac ID from their system although they said they have done it. I had given him the idea of Mac cloning which worked.
