Government allows mobile services in border areas
The Indian government has now relaxed security norms to allow provision of mobile phone services on national boundaries.
The mobile service providers in the country are now allowed to setup their services up to 500 meters of India’s international borders.
This news comes as a great relief to the telecom companies [...]

i am glad they did so, atleast now people residing on bordering areas of punjab, rajisthan, jammu and kashmir, west bengal, assam etc can enjoy mobile telephony like the rest of us. it dosent make sense anymore to block mobile services, since the terroists if they want to can use satellite phones and other mediums. borders are becoming irrelevant the world over anyways.
