All India Radio sacks 100 RJs aged above 35 - The Times of India

You won't hear some of your favourite voices on FM Rainbow and FM Gold any more. That's because All India Radio (AIR) has terminated the services of around 100 casual RJs above the age of 35 years at its Kolkata station. They will cease work after Friday midnight.
The move to do away casual RJs/presenters started in December 2013 with a communique from the AIR director general on the age bar on RJs of the two FM channels. This was followed by another circular in March this year on the same issue.
RJ of AIR sound boring, but then they have their own audience I guess who wish to listen to them rather then shallow knowledge and loud mouthed RJs of private FM radios.

Since this move is planned in Dec 2013, so Modi govt has nothing to do with it :)
Though Modi govt can take back this order...
