Router

Hi!
I am using Internet connection using a device on my roof which receives signals from the tower of my local ISP which has a channel partner of Spectranet. Wire is connected from that device to my laptop. Problem is move my laptop a lot in my room and that weakens the connectors that helps the wire to stay connected to my laptop's LAN port. This happens every other month. So I want to know if buying a router will help me or not? I have no knowledge of routers. I tried looking for some on Flipkart and Snapdeal but I cannot figure out what will be the best for me. I don't even know the difference between router with modem and without modem. So help a brother out?

No. I just open my browser and enter username and password to access Internet.

I guess that should work fine even if you add a wireless router in the middle. But I cannot be sure. Hopefully someone on Spectranet would be able to confirm.

You need a nomal wifi router
