Opening a Bank Account

So Rs.40000 is avg. balance to maintain for regular savings account. Thats steep.

Citibank, HSBC, StanChart etc. are premium banks. They mostly cater to corporate customers. So regular savings account are not a priority. I started with 15K balance requirement on StanChart. By the time I left it, the balance requirement was 50K for the basic account.

Yes has a usable but otherwise shitty mobile app.

HDFC has a very functional App. They have a separate app for Tabs too & ofcourse they have a Windows 8.1 desktop app as well 😀

I guess I'll just convert my HDFC bank account from a under-age savings account (which was setup by my parents about 5 years ago) and convert it into my own account. What debit card should I ask for from HDFC?
