Last Thursday, when I logged into my Tata connection (4mbps), the net was very slow. Pages would take very long to load, torrents would max out at 60-70 kBps. This continued till Saturday. On Sunday, things improved quite a bit. Pages loaded relatively quickly, and torrents averaged at ~200kBps, but some torrents would reach around 400-420 kBps. HTTP downloads would max around 300-350. And it has remained that way since. Before Thursday, I would consistently get 450-470 kBps max on well-seeded torrents and also HTTP.
All the while, my daytime cablewala connection over the same ethernet cable has performed normally. This suggests to me that since Docomo took over Tata Communications' role, they have altered some network policies for the worse.
