How to get a micro-SIM from BSNL?

It sounds like a herculean task to me. But how does one get a replacement micro-SIM from BSNL? A friend is buying the Moto E for his dad.

I have seen people getting their 'Orange'SIM cut to MicroSIM.

I got my SIM cut but the shopkeeper refused to cut sisinlaw's sim saying that the chip was too close to the end and it would not work after cutting.

one shopkeeper refused to cut my old sim due to the same reason.. but i got it cut from another shopkeeper and it is working fine with moto g

Yes it works for all the sim no matter how old it is. It's just that the bsnl 3g one which you cannot be sure of.

BSNL has different SIM designs for 2G and 3G? 😕

Yes, it may or may not work because the 3G sim chip's location is a little downward. The shopkeeper has to cut it cautiously in order to make it work.

Have an old mtnl sim with the larger chip. Used a cutter and ensured that it was aligned properly. Worked out fine. Same goes for those old Orange sims.
