I might need to drive thru "Yamuna Expressway" in a week or two,

last time I did 700 km run in a stretch Yamuna Expressway was under construction.
what I know is its 165km from Agra to Greater Noida, 6 Lanes, lots of cams installed, and around Rs.350-400/- as toll charges.
Can someone please tell what are the charges, precautions, needed.

Edit: Found Their Website which includes most information.
He he he copying the link directly displays the Index Page Title "HOME" wow, what a webmaster there.

I guess drive carefully is the best advice to follow!

Drove on Yamuna Expressway yesterday,
Its a very neat and clean expressway
Roads were clean and smooth.
I was with family and had no intention of driving above 100kmph, so kept between 90-95kmph
Charges were Rs.320/- From Agra to jhewar
But one thing I am certain about, it was very boring drive for me.
with very very limited traffic, I was bored to anything, same old roadsigns repetition, nothing to stop and look, No Stalls, they just have couple of restaurants,
and public conveniences places designed, where a Horrible cup of Tea is Rs.20/- and you would yawn more after having it.
and without co-traffic you are like a moron, who just needs to hold steering and yawn for it to get completed.
Not a Single Road Side Tea Stall or Petrol Pump, whatever, so watch out before you enter it, You would need all your supply with you to cross it.
Thank god I had excellent lunch just around shikohabad in Gunjan Restaurant, cheap and nice food.

congrats on safe journey home, was about to travel threw it while back but then we decided to take train instead 🙂

being a petrol car owner... i do not like to think of driving long distances at 8 bucks per KM 😀

but if most part of journey is likey to be on on highways/expressways u don't get such crappy averages its usually 18km/ltr +

I don't think any Hyundai Petrol Engine can do 18 kmpl on highway.
I did around 700 km stretch, and started with Tank Full, and filled again at 400 km mark.
it was not empty but the low fuel was just about to come up. so I take it as burned 30 Ltrs in 400 km with A.C. ON (outside is 40°C+) and always around 90-100 kmph.
so I got 11.42/Ltr.
A nice article about santros hidden tank capacity
So comparing it with train expense and pain I would have gone thru at Delhi house for not having a car would have costed more.
Train would be Rs.1555/each making it Rs.5500/- for 2 kids and 3 adults one way for this journey and upto station only 😛layful:
Fuel was 4200+ 6/7 toll charges and I still have around half tank remaining, and no need to call a cab or auto for near by necessities.
Over all its nice to have your car around when you can.

Yup. Car can be quite affordable even for longer routes if multiple people are involved and you are not taking the worst railway ticket available.

While travelling on Yamuna Expressway check out if any Airforce plane is landing or trying to take off 🙂
Jokes apart, it seems to be exercise in which IAF is checking if its war ready for any situation.

Dont overspeed, 80kmph is a good speed and do check tyre conditions. Keep snacks with yourself.
Dont drive in extreme left lane at night as vehicles might be parked there.

P.S. Just dont get tempted to drive fast & fast.

I did Yamuna Expressway in Winters early morning on bike. It was isolated, smooth ride but got depressed at end and came back by NH2.

i must be old. i am too scared these days to drive the car over 80 and bike over 50 😀
