First of all I am not sure if I am allowed to ask it here, if I am not allowed please excuse me and delete this.
As the number of shows I have started following s increasing, I am finding it extremely difficult to keep track of things.
Therefore, I am looking for a system that tracks TV shows I watch and keep an eye on if a new episode is available for the show and can schedule a download automatically.
I own a router which has dd-wrt installed and I will love if I can find something that is dd-wrt compatible as I keep my router on 24x7.
I will appreciate any help.

If you own a Tata Sky+ or Tata Sky+ HD or other similar equipment there is already an option. If you are talking about non-indian (US/UK) shows then t0rrent$ are best.

What I was using on Arch was http://flexget.com/, add RSS feeds to it (using the TV section of any popular torrent site) and specify the keywords, size etc. of the shows you want to download, it will download the .torrent file and put it in a folder. Add that as the 'watched folders' in transmission and it will download it as soon as a .torrent file is added to the folder. Set up a cron job to run flexget at any fixed interval. The problem is setting up flexget is a pain in the ass. It broke for me after an upgrade and I stopped using it.
You can try running with this:

Want to know in detail about the option you mentioned.
