    Dear All,
For the last 7 days my Reliance Broadband Connection is switched off from 7 PM to 10 AM next day. I have lodged several complains to the Reliance Toll Free Customer Care number and email them, but they fail to solve the problem or at least call and say where the problem is. I am from Central Kolkata, West Bengal.
Interesting part is that the ADSL Link is present in the modem and I get the message “Acquiring network address” but then I get the final message “The connection has limited or no connectivity” in Windows XP Home Edition. The same connection in the same computer will start to work after 10 AM every day and stop working at around 7 PM. It seems someone is switching any ISP equipment ON and OFF every day.
Can anyone say what can be the probable cause of such an issue where the ADSL link is not down but the computer fails to get an IP address and how to get it solved since Reliance customer care cannot help. It seems Reliance has one of the worst customer care at present.
    Thanks in advance.

Curious. DSL? How are connecting to the internet? Is it always on or are you dialing in? Make of modem/router?
Do you get the 'Acquiring network address' message on the taskbar in your computer? If yes, I think the problem is on your end.

The make of the modem is ZTE 831 provided by Reliance.I have to dial to log in. Everyone in the area is facing the same problem so its not my computer but their network.

Have you escalated this issue to the appellate authority?

Today is 06 February 2014 and still no resolution to the issue. I have received a mail from the Appellate Authority expressing their inability to solve the problem till date. Reliance Communication has failed to pay the rent to the landlord where their equipments are installed and the landlord is switching off the DLC every evening and morning for which the end user is suffering.

Your best way forward is to disconnect reliance and go for some other provider ..Once reliance has a major problem they can never solve it .. I have personally experienced similar treatment in August 2011 ( you can even read my experience by searching for it in my started threads ) ... These guys are good for nothings .. tell them to come and collect money and they will send someone within 5 mins to your place ...

Since 18 January 2014 our Reliance Broadband is getting disconnected from 7 PM to 10 AM next morning. Upon enquiry we found that Reliance has failed to pay any rent to the landlord where their equipments are installed (30 Chittaranjan Avenue, Kolkata 700 012) and the Landlord is switching power to the DLC box. We have written to Reliance Kolkata Office, Customer Service and even to the Appellate Tribunal but no steps have been taken till date. The only reply we got from them is “No DLC box permission” hence no time period for resolution can be guaranteed.”
It seems that Reliance Communication is indulging in Unfair, corrupt and fraudulent practices to cheat their customers as I have paid the entire years fee in advance.

Reliance is honour bound to provide the service or compensate for the trouble, they are already supposed to have an SLA to restore and resolve the connectivity problems permanently within a fixed timeframe, but their Fault Management has become a joke! Tickets are closed without even attending to customers problems. I have face this quite a few times as well.
File a complaint against Reliance Kolkata with the pgportal and see what their response is, then file a complaint with the Consumer Forum, it might take a while for the complaint to be resolved but someone needs to teach these guys a lesson, once they are fined heavily it will make quite a few heads turn and raise eyebrows within Reliance Management and perhaps then they will take some actions to cure these kinds of unprofessional approach to attending and resolving customer issues.

In my experience the entire Reliance Communication company is run by people nothing short of uncivilized animals. Its unthinkable how such a large company can cheat its customer and run without a proper customer service department.
