Remote Desktop To A Public Ip Address

Hi,I am a Sify Broadband customer, and wanted to remote desktop to a public IP address.I tried to tracert (trace route) the public IP address, but I can see that it is blocking at the Sify's Chennai server hop and not allowing me to go beyond that.I am guessing that Sify Chennai's Server may have a firewall which is blocking my request.Has anyone tried doing this before? Or any suggestions on how to do this?I tried calling up Sify Customer care, and they are saying I will need to buy a Public IP address in order to access one. I thought this is weird. Can anyone please help me on this?Regards,Parag.

Hi Kuldeep,

Can you please elaborate more on this? Do I have to use a dial-up connection to be on Dynamic DNS? since Sify has assigned static IP address to my machine in their network.
