Seagate 3TB HDD not getting detected by computer

It's not about the new or old. But it's the type of sata cable (clip type) that adds a extra layer of security to the hdd when compared to ordinary sata cables. Personal experience. My 1 TB hdd is going to complete 4 yrs without any bad sector. it runs more than 8 hrs everday. Straight 48 hrs on sats & suns ...
 
If he has an old extremepower PSU or around that generation, yes, i agree. I had a total shithouse of a 600w extremepower that died within a month, this was ages ago though. Their newer V series are Seasonic OEMs and are extremely good though, and come highly recommended.
If it is an older CM psu though, Ashish is right, do change it.
