Really do not change my motherboard to get it working. lol.
I was planning to get that NetgearNAS. But I am guessing I would still need to format the drive before I can install it in that thingy? From the review linked from that other thread, Netgear's device is not capable of formatting a brand new hard disk. :
I am not sure if they would replace it with another model.
No option to initialize to GPT as mentioned here: https://goo.gl/ct1JFU
This is the page on Seagate website which talks about using Seagate DiscWizard to get hard disks larger than 2.2GB to work on older systems: https://goo.gl/5ulW9J
Try cleaning the drive and formating through diskpart like in the link i mentioned before.1. Select disk (number)2. clean3. convert GPT4. create partition primary size=xxxxxx (xxxxx refers to size in mb)5. assign drive letter=xx..6. format
I will get you the command on how to convert to GPT..but once you convert it to GPT use EaseUS to bring it back to MBR with NTFS partition so it will have higher compatibility.
Alrighty! I need to start by running diskpart right?
The question remains... Formatting the drive is not going to fix the problem at boot time right? Because BIOS still shows it as a drive with 0GB and it stucks at boot time and I have to press F1. And of course, it adds around a minute to the boot time because the system tries to detect the hard drive.
