New docomo 3G suddenly starts giving 2G speed

I got a new Tata Docomo 3G sim which was activated on wednesday. It came with a starting usage of 3072 MB. The download speed rose to as high as 396 KB/s. But yesterday, in the middle of a download, suddenly the speed fell to 5-6 KB/s and has been so ever since.
