Garmin Nuvi 50LM

I got a Garmin Nuvi 50LM for myself when I visited US in Feb/Mar. This was because I was paying a lot to rent it everytime I visited there. During my last trip in May/June, I purchased maps for it for Europe as I had to visit Germany on my way back. Worked wonderfully there. Was curious if it would work in India and got the India maps too. Just plugged in the microSD and it worked like a charm in Chennai. I have to take it for a spin, to test out its accuracy, but am happy it is working here! Hope this is helpful to others considering a purchase.
 
I have the same version except the life time update. I am using it with MapMyIndia maps in delhi ncr and map is fairly accurate 🙂
 
I think India maps will be more for getting nearabouts I guess. However, my iPhone google maps app is really accurate... just wish our networks get better and we could use this itself as a GPS. But for traveling abroad, the Nuvi 50LM is the better option than the iphone as I dont get data on international roaming.
