Dataone Connected, No Internet Sites Are Opening.

There is no problem in logging in broadband. But no internet sites are opening. Service engg. from BSNL showed in their laptop, all sites are opening. They told comp. is having some problem and suggested to format system. Previously also same problem had occured and formatting solved problem. I am a sparse user. I don't have any proxy setting. I have AVG anti virus. How can I confirm ,trace and repair (if possible) where is the problem?
I tried following things:
I have given TCP/IP setting as:
IP-192.168.1.10
Subnet Mask-255.255.255.0
Default gateway-192.168.1.1
DNS1-61.0.0.5
DNS2-61.1.96.71
I am getting reply when I Ping 192.168.1.1(MOdem IP).But when I ping www.yahoo.com-it is not resoluting to corresponding IP. Destination host unreachable-message comes.
Pl. help.

Sounds like DNS problem, maybe BSNL DNS server maintainers again on weeds.
Try other DNS servers like opendns or get a local dns server program and get going.

opendns NS servers ip
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

How come am surfing on full speed coz am not using any dns....i have entered only ip adress 192.168.1.3 in the Local Area Connection properties.

I also had the same problem recently for 2 days. I kept on changing different DNS numbers and sometimes it worked and sometime it didn't. Now, its working well with my same old DNS. But why does this happen?? What is BSNL doing with these DNS numbers ?? Can anyone plz enlighten me???

yes same here n tht time i can Open Only Indian siteslike BSNL.co.inVindian.comMtvindia.comlol..N i can download frm RS too..

Hey Ralf_max100 every time that happens try changing these dns numbers, it helps.
