Hello there, this is Keval from Mumbai.
I wish to get information about MTNL's IPv6 internet. I tried to call and get my questions answered, but everytime, I got lame reasons/answers and now I gave up.
I wish to know how will I be able to use MTNL's IPv6 connection? My wireless router supports IPv6 and I do see a IPv6 tab over there, but I do not know what is to be input in there.
I ran a test:

So, can I have a IPv6 connection and will it affect my connection quality? If yes, then please help me with the settings.
Thank you. 🙂

Aww.

It's unlikely that MTNL supports ipv6. ALso, ipv4 is still going to be around, so don't worry about it.
If you still want to try ipv6, this *might* work - http://tunnelbroker.net/.
Thanks! I will give this a try a bit later. It will take time; i tried to understand it at a glance, but looks kinda complicated for me. 😛
Also, please check this link if it tells you something.

Would just say the obvious here. IPv6 would mean nothing to the end user. It's not going to magically change anything. It is mostly related to service providers who would get much more freedom in allocating IPs to consumers. IMHO.

if you have windows 7 or windows 8 and the link
http://[2a00:1450:4002:802::1005] works or in utorrent logs u see Got Teredo Address: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
then u can try
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesDnscacheParameters, adding a DWORD value: AddrConfigControl = 0
in regedit
the above step worked for me and should work for u as well

I had written to MTNL thru their FB page on this issue about when they will be compliant but no reply yet :nono:
MTNL dosent know much abt ipv6 one engineer from MTNL came to my house for activating ipv6 access but failed and their customer care gives out of box answers if my previous post works then fine otherwise wait for MTNL to fully support ipv6 (i.e., their own ipv6 DNS not Teredo)

lol MTNL's own IP6 DNS :rofl:
On a more serious note saw his on OpenDns site http://www.opendns.com/technology/ipv6/ not tried it yet.

OpenDNS IPv6 Sandbox IPs:
2620:0:ccc::2
2620:0:ccd::2

Code:
Test your settings: http://www.test-ipv6.com/

I am getting this in IPV6 CONNECTION with D-Link DSL-2750u U1 1.08 firmware:

Wan Connection :
Connection Type : PPPoEv6
IPv6 Address/Prefix Len : 2001::1234/128,fe80::94:10e6:9637:f216/10
Gateway : fe80::70fa:2f8f:fff8:260a
Pri Dns : 2620:0:ccc::2
Sec Dns : 2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8844
Prefix Info : 2000::/56
Status : GlobalConnected

But it is not IPV6 with mtnl. 🙁
Not sure when will MTNL give native ipv6.

4 year bump !!!
The 6to4 tunnel of mtnl now perfectly works.... It properly relays 192.88.99.1 to the nearrest anycast server...
Those of you who have 6to4 functionality in your routers can try the mtnl adsl to deliver the ipv6 ip address using this ipv6 traffic inside a ipv4 tunnel method.
Just mind ... its already depreciated protocol, but mtnl seems to be the last isp to implement it !!

MTNL IPV6 works “Natively” now. No need for tunnel. Just email their customer care. I have IPV6 enabled on 2 FTTH and 1 VDSL connections.

Sanke3... it's easy for them on fiber, but adsl they are unable to give native as they are using old Huawei and Alcatel switches. I had spoken to their official in prabhadevi few months back who tried but failed because of old hardware.
