Hi
I am using MAC OS X 3.4 and for that AirTel offers an ethernet modem only in Home 64 plan. The modem is working fine and I am being able to visit any site. But the real problem comes when I try to establish a VPN and connect to my office network. The exact error I get is

Sun Mar 20 13:05:39 2005 : PPTP connection established.
Sun Mar 20 13:05:39 2005 : Using interface ppp0
Sun Mar 20 13:05:39 2005 : Connect: ppp0 socket[34:17]
Sun Mar 20 13:06:09 2005 : LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
Sun Mar 20 13:06:09 2005 : Connection terminated.
Sun Mar 20 13:06:09 2005 : PPTP disconnecting...
Sun Mar 20 13:06:09 2005 : PPTP disconnected

I thougt this may be a problem with MAC OS's PPTP implementation. But when I dial up over a reliance connection it gets connected without any issues. I called the support center of AirTel but they just don't know how to help.

My guess is I have to modify the settings in PPP options tab of the modem after opening http://192.168.1.1. But the only configurable paramter which made sense to me is "lcp-max-configure" but it doesn't help. I tried upgrading firmware but it doesn't help.

Any thoughts ??
