iPad Mini : My Personal Review and Unboxing

After Using my Apple's iPad Mini for almost 10 days now I am quite ready to given My Unboxing and Personal Review on iPad Mini.

Configurations :

Model : iPad Mini WiFi
Memory : 16 GB
RAM : 512
CPU : Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9
Camera : 5 MP

Till now i have been using Nokia, Blackberry and Android Products. This is my 1st apple product, so it took quite some time to understand the OS. In Nokia, Blackberry and Android, I never felt to refer any manual but in case of iPad Mini, i had to take help of online manuals to learn syncing of Audio/Video and applications.

Before I go further, here are some of the Pics of Unboxing of mine Apple's iPad Mini.

My Personal brief Review of iPad Mini

Hardware : Very classy, shiny and quite attractive. I saw many tablets before purchasing iPad Mini and i must say iPad Mini design and built is best among all including Samsung Tablets.

Display : Its same like any iPhone and being 7.9" screen , its handy as well as large enough to surf, play games and do other online works.

Operating System : Immediately after I connected iPad Mini to iTunes, it got updated to iOS 6.0.2. Its undoubtedly fast and smooth than Android.

App Store : App Store is full of Apps and Games but most the games which I have for free on Android are chargable. Some of the Apps which are specially built for iPad are awesome like Facebook, Accuweather, Tapatalk HD, Flipboard. (Will post their screens later on.)

Battery : As claimed by Apple, it is giving 8-9 hours of battery Backup while playing games or surfing net on Wifi.

So, I feel that I made a good choice by purchasing iPad Mini over Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

Thanks for Reading this. If you guys like this, I will post more 😀

you have the cellular version?

from what i understand google maps on ios do not yet have offline maps capabilities. i could be wrong though. Nokia here is of course another option. this is assuming that the ipad mini has gps.

you have the cellular version?

left is wifi only, right is wifi+4g

I am 100% sure that the non cellular version of any iPad does NOT have GPS.

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/10/25/ipad_mini_wifi_no_gps/

Wi-Fi-only iPads have never featured GPS, but the lack of satellite-navigation tech in the new Mini fondleslab's non-cellular version has provoked a mild backlash: and rightly so, though not many people understand why.

The new gizmos do have a "digital compass", a magnetometer which is aware of the direction the slab is being pointed but not it's location. The device guesses where it is by sniffing for nearby WiFi base stations and checking their position against Apple's database of unique device IDs.

It's not at all accurate - the database has only a sketchy notion where the base stations are, and the slab has very little idea where it is in relation to them. If there aren't any Wi-Fi boxes about, it won't work at all. But because Wi-Fi signals are short-ranging, the uncertainties aren't too large and it'll do for working out the route from the Starbucks to the beret shop.

If like most people you only ever use "free" online mapping services such as Google Maps or Apple Maps, there's not much point in a Wi-Fi-only iPad having GPS. It would know where it was thanks to the generosity of the US Defense Department* even if it didn't have a Wi-Fi signal, but it couldn't pinpoint itself on an online mapping service because it couldn't get online.

^^ Why not? I have GPS on my wifi only Nexus 7 and I can use Sygic for offline turn by turn navigation.
