ESS threatens to switch-off channels to Airtel digital TV
ESPN Software India has issued a public notice informing Airtel digital TV subscribers that ESPN, Star Sports and Star Cricket channels will be de-activated from the platform due to non-signing of agreement and breach of statutory obligations by ESPN Software India.

The notice says that the three channels will also be de-activated from Airtel's IPTV platform. The channels will be de-activated in 21 days after the expiry of the notice, which was issued on 1 March.

Last year, Airtel digital TV had de-activated ESPN and Star Cricket HD channels from its platform citing prohibitive prices of the two channels.

Hmmm...first it was their HD channels now SD channels....wonder what are Airtel Upto...
 
Star Sports almost controls all Cricketing action (+ many other important sports as well).
If they walk out of Airtel, many would leave Airtel I guess. Its really worrying for 1 year Mega pack customers. May be they should drag Airtel to court and ask for refund.
 
We should complain to MIB straight away. Since the channel is available and being removed only from airtel due to its malafied intentions.
 
As of today, ESPN HD and Star Cricket HD have been added back .
 
Yes these channels are back. Each Channel costs Rs.50 p.m
Also there are new top-ups
All HD 17 Channels Rs.175 p.m
All 4 Sports HD channels Rs.99 p.m
