fingerprint scanners have existed for a while on Android devices. At least one Motorola model had it.

Ok.. I thought the phone screen works as a finger print scanner. Turns out they have a scanner at the back. Is it reliable? Or it can be fooled using methods shown in the Mythbusters? and is it battery hogging feature?

beh. fingerprint scanners are not foolproof security. but it adds to the complexity of getting into a phone. it is more of a novelty feature like the facelock with little practical use in the real world. best solution is to have encrypt the phone with a strong password.
