BSNL DataOne
i am using BSNL night unlimited for 5 years [ 117.xx.xx.xx connection ] . i have never exceeded 2.5 gb allowed day time use . my downloads run on scheduler and switch off at 8 AM if i forget to turn them off at 7:45 AM .

yesterday Nov 15 it shows between 8 AM - 10:42 AM i downloaded 1.1 gb . absolutely out of the question .
i do not use wifi . i strictly believe in RJ 45 wire connections for this very reason .
can my DataOne have been hacked ?

i have changed modem password and changed BSNL Broadband login password today an hour back . what else can be done ? [ previously modem password was admin - admin since i thought that there was port binding and no one can hack into my account . this is a 6 month old modem . the previous modem had my own password ]

is it
A ) BSNL database mistake [ in which case i have no defense . no way they will accept my own Networx data that i used only 50 mb in entire day after 8 AM ]
B ) can someone access my adsl modem / router remotely [ D-Link ADSL modem router ]
C ) something i do not know ? one point is as soon as i switched off my connection at 10:42 AM it stopped . there is no download after 10:42 AM . my connection is bridge mode . so if anyone was hacking they need me to be logged in . what can i do ?

any help / suggestion will be much appreciated .

I read in some thread somewhere that your BSNL userid and password can be used in another BSNL line. I am not sure of this, just read it here in some thread.

Port binding is there are most places. Seems like the op got unlucky. Anyway, talk to the ao and explain your situation, they'll reverse the charges.

Complain first. See what happens.

No way one could use your id and password to login and use your connection remotely..unless he has access in BSNL exchange itself...And believe me i have 2 BSNL conections my place and i have tried...there are always guard bands allotted to each user!!
